There are a number of practical considerations to decide upon when planning the funeral itself. Family may consult each other and come up with a plan, and your Jennings.ie Funeral Director is always on hand to advise and get information for you whenever you need it.
Some of the issues you will need to think about are as follows:
- Will there be viewing/wake?
- What clothing would you like to deceased to wear
- If so, where will the viewing/wake be held?
- Will the coffin be open or closed? (ask your Jennings Funeral Director for more info)
- Burial or Cremation
- Content for the Death Notice
- Posting of the Death Notice
- Location, date and time for the services
- Removal the night before or Funeral mass on the day
- Who is welcome at funeral/wake/house?
- Coffin/casket/urn selection
- If cremation, ashes scattered or kept in container (s)
- Flowers/charitable donations at funeral
- Music, prayers, readings and eulogy at service
- Family/friends involved in service
- Catering at home/booking of venue for after service and determine numbers
- Burial plot/graveside service
